1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to all AfriQ services — Internet, Voice & SIP, Bulk SMS, Web Hosting, Solar and Infrastructure. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
2. Prohibited activities
- Illegal activity, or content that is unlawful, harmful or infringes others' rights.
- Spam or unsolicited bulk messaging (email or SMS), and sending SMS without valid consent or an approved sender ID.
- Network abuse — hacking, denial-of-service, port scanning, IP/route spoofing or distributing malware.
- Unauthorised access to systems, data or accounts.
- Activity that degrades network performance or security for other customers.
3. Messaging & voice
Bulk SMS and voice services must comply with applicable regulations and consent requirements. We reserve the right to block traffic that is fraudulent, deceptive or non-compliant.
4. Hosting & content
You are responsible for content you host. Prohibited content includes malware distribution, phishing, and material that is illegal under Kenyan law.
5. Routing & security
Interconnection and routing must follow good practice consistent with MANRS. See our Peering Policy for interconnection.
6. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and suspend or terminate services as needed to protect our network and customers, in line with our Terms.
7. Reporting abuse
Report abuse to abuse@afriqnetworks.co.ke.
